Elders need a safe, clean place to stay comfortably where their day to day needs are taken care of, accorded warmth and respect and have a chance to live peacefully without being neglected. John’s Daycare and Boarding for Senior Citizens does exactly that!
‘’I started donating twice a year after I lost my mother and have been doing so for over nine years now. She was quite unwell for a few months and even today I feel tremendous gratitude towards those who donated blood to her and made her sickness a tad bit more comfortable and easy to bear. Blood donation can not only save one life, but make a difference in the lives of many people who are waiting for a loved one to recover quickly. Donating blood is something I whole hearted advocate!’’ – Gina Bains, Principal, Saksham Nursery and Preschool, New Delhi

I still remember that working day at my institute..there was an emergency call out for O+ve blood group as one of our junior staff amputated his arm while working. Without any second thoughts I ran to extend my help to our Satish who served us day in day out with coffee, tea and made sure that we were comfortable in staff room. By doctors and God’s grace we were able to fix the arm back. The smile he gave me back when he came to know that I donated blood to him just changed something in me as a person. Since then I donate blood regularly and do my bit for humanity. I strongly urge people to give blood as it is incredibly simple and good opportunity to help and save people’s life.

I once read somewhere “It isn’t every day you can do something to save someone’s life – but that’s exactly what you do every time you donate blood. Blood is a priceless gift – a lifesaver” We take so much from the society everyday but I feel I have never given anything back so its my way of giving back to the society. It’s not something completely selfless cause in the end it makes me proud of myself.
